Vancouver's Multi-Trade Finishing Experts
Nookmaster is a family-owned finishing company founded by Jacobo Moreno and Ruth Noboa. A husband-and-wife team with over 40 years of construction expertise, built across two countries and countless challenges. We're the one team that handles what usually takes six different trades.
Our Story
Jacobo Moreno started building furniture in Quito, Ecuador, over 40 years ago. Closets, kitchens, fine carpentry, construction finishes. He established his first factory.
Then it burned down.
His second daughter was about to be born. Everything was lost. He and Ruth had to start over from nothing. They did. Again and again.
Over the decades in Ecuador, Jacobo built multiple businesses: furniture manufacturing, decorative moldings, construction finishes. He became known for solving impossible problems. When machines didn't exist, he invented them. When materials weren't available, he found alternatives. Builders came to him when no one else could deliver.
Seven years ago, Ruth and Jacobo made a decision: follow their two daughters to Vancouver. Start again. One more time.
They founded Nookmaster. And they discovered something here: the same problem exists in Vancouver that existed in Ecuador. The final details are always the hardest. Projects get stuck. Punch lists pile up. Trades disappear.
Ruth and Jacobo realized this was their calling. Not just carpentry, not just finishing. Clearing the path to completion.

Started over from nothing. Built factories, invented machines, solved problems others couldn't.
Ruth and Jacobo follow their daughters to Canada. They start again, one more time.

Jacobo Moreno
Master Craftsman & Co-Founder
Jacobo has been building with his hands for over 40 years. He started in Quito, Ecuador, crafting furniture, closets, and kitchens. Over the decades he built multiple businesses, from furniture manufacturing to decorative moldings. When a machine didn't exist for what he needed, he invented it. When materials weren't available, he found alternatives. He's the problem-solving mind behind Nookmaster.

What We Stand For
These values guide every decision we make and every project we take on.
Craftsmanship
40+ years of fine carpentry expertise in every project. We take pride in work that's built to last.
Partnership
We build long-term relationships, not one-time transactions. Your success is our success.
Reliability
We show up when we say we will and finish what we start. No excuses, no finger-pointing.
Integrity
Honest assessments, transparent pricing, and work we stand behind. Always.
"The devil is in the details."
This truth drives everything we do. When a project is 95% complete, that final 5% is the hardest part. Six different trades. Six different schedules. Six different excuses.
Our superpower: one team with the skills to handle it all.
Why One Team Makes All the Difference
The traditional approach: Your punch list has 20 items across 6 trades. You spend days coordinating schedules, dealing with no-shows, managing conflicts. Each trade blames the last one. The project drags on.
The Nookmaster way: You make one call. Our team arrives, assesses everything, and handles it all. Carpentry adjustments, drywall patches, paint touch-ups, trim fixes, flooring repairs, hardware installation. One visit. One invoice. Done.
It's not magic. We've just built a team that's genuinely skilled across multiple trades, trained to work together, and committed to getting things done right.
