A full interior and exterior renovation in North Vancouver. New floors, custom wood ceilings, decorative beams, stairs, doors, trims, and a complete repaint inside and out. The ground floor was converted into an independent suite.

The Story
This was our first job in Vancouver. Spring 2022, North Vancouver. The house was outdated throughout. Ale, the homeowner, wanted to renovate and convert the ground floor into a self-contained rental suite to help cover the mortgage.
The scope was wide: new floors in every room, all new doors and trims, a full repaint inside and out, custom ceilings in the kitchen and living room, decorative beams over the island, a new staircase, and new locks throughout.
One detail worth mentioning: when we pulled out the old bamboo floors, we kept the material. We cut and used it to build the decorative ceiling beams in the kitchen and living room. Same wood, completely different use. It looked intentional. It cost less. That kind of thinking is how you get a high-quality result on a renovation budget.

What We Did
Flooring and Stairs
All floors replaced throughout the house. Stairs rebuilt with new treads. Doors, closet doors, baseboards, and trims replaced in every room.

Custom ceiling installed in the kitchen and living room. Decorative beams built over the kitchen island using the bamboo floors removed from the house. Same material, completely new use.

Interior and Exterior Paint
Full repaint inside and out. One exterior wall ran alongside the pool, which required custom scaffolding. All interior rooms repainted, including the new independent ground floor suite.

The Result
The house came out well. The owners were happy with the work, and the ground floor suite was ready to rent. For us, this project meant more than the result. It was our first job in Vancouver. Everything that followed started here.
