Most deck contractors are set up for exactly that: decks. They have crews, standard materials, and a process built around flat platforms and railings. That’s not what we do. Our outdoor carpentry work is the specific stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into a deck quote: the hot tub platform that needs hidden storage and a finished hatch underneath, the garbage enclosure that has to match the house exterior, the built-in bench with a planter that ties into the fence line. These are custom exterior carpentry pieces, and they require a different approach.

The scope of what we build outdoors is specific. We take on hot tub platforms with integrated storage, exterior built-in furniture, garbage and utility enclosures, exterior stairs and railings for grade changes and yard access, in-ground hatches with hydraulic arms, and exterior facade woodwork like wood-slat garage door treatments. Each project starts with a design process. We measure, we look at the space, we talk through materials and finish levels, and we build something that fits the actual dimensions and conditions of your property.

We don’t build decks, fences, or pergolas. Those categories have contractors who specialize in them, and you’ll get a better result by going to someone set up for that work. What we take on are the exterior carpentry pieces where the design is specific to your space and an off-the-shelf product won’t cut it. Exterior work has different material requirements than interior work. We spec pressure-treated framing, cedar, and hardwoods with appropriate exterior finish systems as the project calls for. Hardware is stainless or galvanized throughout. The goal is a finished piece that holds up to Vancouver weather without looking like a construction site. Every quote includes material specs so you know what you’re getting.
